Claire and Grant braved the Michigan winter cold with me for their engagement session back in December. I was flying home for Christmas and Grant was headed out of town two days after that, so we had one day in between to make this happen! Winter sessions might be shorter due to the cold, but I always LOVE the results. There’s just something about snowy photos.
Claire and I would probably say we have a bit of a unique friendship. I knew her mom through the photography world, and through her I found Claire to second shoot a wedding for me a few years back. Then in 2018, Claire was in Italy and I was in Finland, so Claire came up to visit me in Helsinki for a weekend and I went to Italy for 9 days and traveled with her and a few other awesome ladies. This past summer, Claire and I both happened to be in Alaska at the same time, so we met up for coffee there too! We had to laugh- we grew up in the same place and never hung out, but here we are finding each other in these far away destinations around the world!
I was supposed to shoot Grant and Claire’s wedding this coming May, but due to the craziness of the world right now, it was decided that Claire would hire a photographer who lives close to home in case I couldn’t make it there. I’m bummed about it, but I know I can’t change anything and they found a great photographer who I know will take amazing care of them on their special day. <3
