I met Marita when I was in Norway in 2014, and it just so happened that her wedding would be when I was in Europe again this year! Witnessing a full Norwegian wedding was such a neat experience.
We started off the day at 7:30 a.m. when I met Sandra and Marita for the half hour drive to the hair salon in Steinkjer.
It was only light from about 10-3, so we had to take advantage!
We left the salon at eleven and headed back to the church in Malm. Øyvind met us there for the first look and then I hurried to the state church to get ready for the ceremony.
After the ceremony, we had an hour and a half for portraits.
Since it was so cold outside, we had to warm up in the house, so I decided to try something new! Not perfect, but I loved the results.
Overlooking the very small but beautiful town of Malm.
Then it was back to the church for dinner and celebration!
This is a traditional Norwegian cake, which kind of has an almond flavor.
Norwegians are known for their cakes, and for good reason! So many yummy ones!
Marita and Øyvind left the church right after midnight. I've done some long weddings in the past, but this one outdid them all! I'm not complaining- it was awesome to be there all day as the photographer and a guest. A huge thank you to everyone for being patient with the English speaking photographer, and to Marita and Øyvind for inviting me to be a part of their day :) May God bless your marriage now and always.
